Product Description

Enlightenment through Aikido focuses on Aikido's spiritual teachings, drawing on Sunadomari's experiences as a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba. Quotes from the founder and the author's interpretations show how Aikido can develop inner strength and tranquility. This book is an excellent companion for those practitioners who aspire to go beyond the physical in their journey along the path of Aikido.

About the Author:

Kanshu Sunadomari (1923–2010) was a distinguished Japanese aikido master and founder of Aiki Manseido, a unique style emphasizing the integration of aikido's physical techniques with spiritual development. Born in Kumamoto, Japan, he was one of the earliest and most devoted students of aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba, whose teachings profoundly influenced Sunadomari's approach to martial arts. After World War II, he established a dojo in Kumamoto in 1954 and, in 1961, founded Aiki Manseido, focusing on principles like blending, circular motion, and inner harmony. A prolific writer and lecturer, Sunadomari explored the spiritual dimensions of aikido, emphasizing its potential for personal growth and universal peace. His legacy endures through his writings and the continued practice of Aiki Manseido, a style known for its flowing movements and emphasis on harmony.
